My story with Howard….

My story with Howard’s Maps....
I was visiting a friend’s home in Charleston, SC in 2004 and I noticed there were many paintings in their beautiful home but no maps. I went on my search for the perfect map and I found Howard’s Maps. I purchased a map of Charleston and sent the gift as a thank you for my stay.   I continued buying Howard’s Maps thru the years and I never knew anything about this person as most of us don’t when we buy something from a website.
16 years later and many maps purchased from Howard, I moved to St. Simons Island and needed a special gift and thought of Howard’s Maps. I discovered Howard lived in Brunswick, Georgia, about 15 minutes from St. Simons Island. Really??
I have been buying these maps for over 15 years and never in a million years thought about where this map person lived...he could have been in Australia for all I knew.
I met Howard at the Walgreen’s parking lot because it was Covid. We stood and talked for hours. I felt a very special connection and later asked him to partner with and let me sell his maps and other map goods.  He loved that idea and said, I know you can do this, you’ve got Hustle. He was right, I’ve always had that.  I started with an Insulated Tumbler that a sweet, local gal made for me.  Moved on to Towels, Coffee Mugs, Candles, Aprons, Pillows, Ornaments, Puzzles, Totes, PickleBall/Golf Towels, Trivets, Canvases etc.
Unfortunately, Howard fell and we lost him shortly after in 2021. I told him I would carry on his legacy of maps as long as I could and I would spread his maps anywhere and everywhere!
Howard’s Maps, as they are known to many as NeoClassical Maps, were hand drawn by Howard Handlen over a forty year span that started in Puerto Rico and landed him around the Georgia Coast.
